Reading for a Cause: The Warminster Township Free Library First Annual READ-A-THON To benefit the Pediatric Cancer Center at CHOP Children of all ages are invited to participate in the Warminster Library’s first annual READ-A-THON on Saturday, May 31 beginning at 10:30 AM. A donation and a half-hour of reading is all you need to take part in this day-long event. Come into the library any time during the month of May to pick up your sponsor (pdf) and instruction sheet (pdf) ! The READ-A-THON will benefit the Pediatric Cancer Center at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. No donation is too small!

How does it work?

1. Please bring the sponsor form and your donations in an envelope on the day of the READ-A-THON and check in at the table in the front of the library.
2. Find a good book to read, get comfortable and start reading!
3. At the end of your half-hour, return to the READ-A-THON table to check out and collect your thank-you bag.
4. Leave the library knowing that you have made a difference in the life of a child dealing with cancer!

We can’t make it on May 31st. Can we still take part?

Certainly! Just come in with your donation any time from May 27-June 7 and do your reading!

My child is too young to read on his own. Can he still participate?

Absolutely! We will have a story time at 11:00 AM and volunteer book buddies will be available during the day to read to your child so that everyone can take part!

I know a child who has cancer. Is there any way to remember him or her?

We will be very happy to remember any child who has cancer. Please give us their names when you check in and we will include them as a memorial on our donation to the hospital.
