Southampton Free Library

Friends

The library has an active Friends group whose fundraising activities provide immense support for library activities, the purchase of equipment, furniture, books, and more. Yearly events included a membership drive in the spring, a book fund drive in the fall, an autumn bazaar, twice yearly booksales, an entertainment book with huge discounts, and a spring geranium and winter poinsettia sale. Recent book fund donations were used for the purchase of new books for adults and children, CD's, DVD's and audio books.

For further information, see the Friends website at www.southamptonpa.com/library or call the library at 215-322-1415.

Volunteers

Volunteers have played an important role in the operation of the library from its inception in 1921. They are a valuable asset to the library and are greatly appreciated by staff. Volunteers provide over 5000 hours of service a year in areas such as book repair, shelving, circulation, children's programming, updating the magazines plus any other special projects.

Call the library at 215-322-1415 and ask about volunteer opportunities.
