Thanks to all who participated and special thanks to the teen judges from the Upper Darby Sellers Memorial Library Teen Advisory Group!
Winners will be receiving their prizes at the Video Awards Night at the Yardley Library on Monday, September 27, 2010.
Make a one-minute public service announcement promoting next year's teen summer reading program.
The theme is: You Are Here
Along with your video, please submit a short marketing plan (your "advertising pitch") in a paragraph or two, describing your video and how you would use it to market the libraries' summer reading program.
Any teen, going into 6th through 12th grade may enter. In the event of a group submission, the prize will be divided among the group members.
* Videos can focus on books, programs, technologies or services the Library offers. Videos do not have to be filmed at the library. Be creative!
* Video entries must incorporate, in audio or video, the words: You Are Here.
* Video entries must be original works created between June 19, 2010 and August 8, 2010.
* Video entry forms will only be accepted between June 19, 2010 and August 8, 2010.
* Video length must be no more than one minute long.
Upload your video to YouTube
If you are under 13, please have parent or guardian submit your video.
Give your video a title, description, and tags.
Make sure one of the tags you assign to your video is BucksCountyLibrary2010 (all one word-no spaces).
Entries will be accepted June 19, 2010 to August 8, 2010.
At the end of the entry form, please write a short marketing plan describing your video and how you would use your video to convince other teens to join the Bucks County Public Library's summer reading program.
Print out or ask your local librarian for a Media Release form.
Make sure each person who appears in your video gets a copy of the form signed by a parent or guardian.
Once everyone in your group has the signed forms, you can either bring the forms to your local librarian or mail them to: Bucks County Free Library, Youth Services Consultant, 150 S. Pine Street, Doylestown, PA, 18901.
Winners will be notified by September 1, 2010. One grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded to best overall video. Smaller prizes will be awarded in the following categories: best comedy, best costumes/props, best use of theme: You Are Here, judge's choice, and best marketing plan.
All contestants will be invited to a Video Awards Night in September at the Yardley branch where the prizes will be given. All contestants who attend the celebration will receive a prize for participation. Details will be sent to the email address provided on the online entry form.
